By the Tide

This is another card we made at our weekly stamping day.  Mr. Lobster was heat embossed with Calypso Coral embossing powder.  The sea grass was stamped three times with Coastal Cabana, stamping off after each impression.  Mr. Lobster was stamped over the center sea grass image.  Linen thread and a button I colored with my new Blendability marker finished off the card. I added two tiny pearls to the center of the button.

Supplies:

Stamps:  By the Tide
CS:  Whisper White
Ink:  Coastal Cabana, Versa Mark
Other:  Linen thread, Designer Very Vintage Button colored with Coastal Cabana Blendie, Calypso Coral embossing powder, Basic Pearls

Thanks for visiting today.  Have a great weekend.

A Wetlands Work of Art!

I saw this card on Pinterest for inspiration.  This is my take on it.  The Work of Art and the Wetlands stamp sets are two of my favorite Stampin Up stamp sets.  The possibilities are endless!  This is the card we made last week.  My friends Nancy from Nanny's Pansy Patch and Martha who visits her family here in PA every summer come over here once a week during the summer months for some stamping fun.  If you notice there is a little "Gorgeous Grunge" on this card too.  Can't tell you how much I love that set!  Martha plans to make multiples of this card to earn money for charity. She suggested using a sea shell in place of the button.  Great idea!  And now thanks to Martha, Nancy and I have some sea shells to use in the future.  This card is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.

Supplies:

Stamps:  Wetlands, Work of Art, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink:  Marina Mist, Baked Brown Sugar, Early Espresso
CS:  Wh. White, Marina Mist, Baked Brown Sugar
Other:  Linen Thread, Neutrals Collection Button

Have a great day and Happy Stamping!

Traveler Meets the World

I knew the minute I saw the Traveler stamp set I had to have it!  The images have a vintage feel and would make great retirement cards or "Bon Voyage" cards as I've done here.  I also plan to use the Traveler set to scrapbook some of my own vacation trips!   This card is pretty straight forward.  It's 5 1/4" sq.  The main technique is masking.  I'm really happy with the way it turned out.  I hope you like it too.

Supplies:

Stamps:  Traveler, World Map, Life's Adventure (SU Hostess set 2014/15)
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Lost Lagoon, Very Vanilla
Ink: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Lost Lagoon
Other:  Circle Framelits (for the mask), Candy Dots, Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits,
Ribbon: Natural Chevron Ribbon, Lost Lagoon Stiched Satin Ribbon

Thanks for stopping in today!

Happy Stampers New Catalog Blog Hop and Blog Candy Too!

Welcome to the Happy Stampers new Stampin Up 2014-2015 Annual Catalog blog hop.  A first for me so here goes....

I chose to use the Swallowtail stamp set two different ways.  The card below has been masked off with just the square in the middle to be stamped and colored.  I've cased this card from the Stampin Schach.  I've changed it up a bit with different colors and a different sentiment.  My coloring was done with a blender pen and ink pads - the pads were squished in the middle to leave ink on the inside of the lid and picked up with a blender pen.  The sentiment is from the Six-Sided Sampler stamp set.

The next card also uses the Swallowtail.  I was inspired by this card on Pinterest.  The Swallowtail was embossed with VersaMark and black embossing powder.  This time I colored it with our new Blendabilities,  Can you tell that the colors are more vibrant in this version?  I then fussy cut him out and placed him on my whisper white card using dimensionals.  I've wrapped him around to the back side of the card as well.  A little bit of his wing was trimmed off to fit on the card where I wanted him.  The sentiment is from one of my favorite new stamp sets in this catalog - Choose Happiness - I have the clear mount version and was able to curve it ever so slightly to follow the curve of the swallowtail's wing. Popping him up on dimensionals really makes him stand out.   I love how it turned out and hope you do too.

And now for the blog candy...please leave me a comment and tell me which card is your favorite.  I'll choose a random recipient to win a pack of Basic Rhinestone Jewels AND a pack of Stampin Dimensionals.  I'll announce the winner on Friday, July 25.  So be sure to check back.

Independance Day Decorations

It was perfect timing for my Paper Pumpkin kit this month.  I made a table center piece for my kitchen table with this months kit.  I used some left over small canning jars filled with rice to hold the pin wheels.  The red, white and blue stars in front are from my stash of July 4th decorations.  There is something about red, white and blue that just makes me smile!

Thanks for stopping in today.

Simply Sketched Meets Paper Pumpkin

This month's Paper Pumpkin included this pretty white frame.  When I saw it I knew it would be perfect for a Mother's Day gift for my Mom.  The inside piece is 4 x 4.  The inspiration for the floral scene came from this card at Handcrafting with Heather.  I wanted to do bold colors since Mom's vision is not the best.  She loves "red" so I know she'll like this.  The butterfly and the blossom at the bottom are popped up.  I removed the glass for the photo.

Supplies: Simply Sketched stamp set, Circle framelits, candy dots, butterfly from Clearly for you stamp set (ret), Whisper White, Basic Gray, and Daffodil Delight (butterfly) cardstock.

I really like how it turned out.  Thanks for visiting today.
