Soft Sky Summer Silhouette

I really liked the card I saw over on Debbie's Designs  so I pretty much copied the scene as best I could but then added a little of my own touch with the birds from the Up, Up, and Away Stampin Up stamp set which is about to retire.

Supplies:
Stamps: Summer Silhouettes
CS:  Whisper White, Wild Wasabi (peeking out under the scalloped edges)
Ink: Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, Early Espresso
Accessories:  Pool Party Ribbon, Pearls, Large Scallop Edgelit and one of the Delicate Designs Embossing Folder Borders

Have a great day and thanks for visiting today.

Bloomin' Bouquet

I made this Bloomin' Bouquet for my Mom for Mother's Day.  I hope she likes it.  I wanted something unbreakable for her but couldn't find what I wanted so instead I found these little glass containers at my local craft store.   I put a small piece of styrofoam in the bottom to hold the stems.  To cover up the styrofoam I filled the bottom with a lot of my retired SU buttons.  Added some butterflies and ribbon and done!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Happy Mother's Day!

Vintage Box

This box was made for a friend's 65th birthday!  Inside there were 65 crisp new $1 bills!  The box was cut out on my e-cutter.  To decorate it I used Very Vanilla and Perfect Plum cs, SU's new butterfly punches, flower trim and lace, an antique brad and a retired vintage round tag stamped with a butterfly. There are SU pearls on the butterflies.  The Perfect Plum cs was embossed with the lacy brocade embossing folder and sanded a little bit for texture.  I love how the box turned out and my friend loved it as well (especially the inside!)

Thanks for stopping in today.

Poker Anyone?

I can't believe it's been this long since I posted to my blog.  I really need to get with the program here!
I made this card for my friend's son's birthday.  His hobby is playing poker at the casino.  He likes it so much he named his adorable Springer Spaniel "Poker".  The inside of the card is below.

This is a 5" square card.  The Real Red layer on the front was cut out on my e-cutter with the four playing card suits.  The springer spaniel stamp on the inside was in my stash and all other products were Stampin Up.  The inside sentiment was SU as was the word bubble from the new photopolymer stamp set.  The sentiment "Poker Anyone" in the word bubble was computer generated.

Thanks for stopping by today.

The Bichons and Me

Aren't they cute!  Left to right: Holly, Snickers, Bessie, Gracie, Rosie.  Have to admit that photo was pure luck!  Gracie 11, was my first Bichon Frise.  Had to have another so along came Rosie 9.  Snickers, the man was Mom's Bichon Frise until she went to assisted living.  That's when Snickers came to live with us.  Three Bichons and Me was almost my blog title. My friends Valerie and Judy heard about two Bichons that needed a home because their owner had passed away.  Don't know what I was thinking saying "YES" I want them.  But I am so glad I did.  Holly 8 (and presently on my lap) and Bessie 6 are the two rescues. So that's how my blog title became Five Bichon's and me.  I feel blessed to have them in my life.

Thanks for letting me show off my kids!

Snowmen Tea Lights

It's been a while since I posted.  Computer issues and sick puppy issues are the main reason but.....I'm back now.  And I have been playing with my Christmas stuff!  In the first photo are adorable snowmen tea lights that I made for dinner place settings on Christmas Day. I first saw these at Inking Idaho.  You can find the instructions for them there along with instructions for the cute little box.

Since I struggle with bows I put pearls on the ribbon trim scarf instead.  Also for the bottom I first punched a 1 1/4 circle punch and then centered the cut out circle opening in a two inch scallop circle punch.  That leaves an opening to replace the battery and to turn the tea light switch on and off.

Sick puppy was the man Snickers.  He needed emergency surgery for bladder stones and is finally getting back to his normal very vocal self again.

I'm going to make my Christmas cards this year and actually send them.....so I better get started.

Thanks for stopping in today.
