Witch's Hat

Saw this witch's hat on SCS.  This is my version.  I used some dsp I had in my stash along with a stick-on black cat.  The tie around the brim is some cording I saved from a package ages ago.  There's also some bling but it's hard to see in the photo.  The spider is plastic and is dangling from some silver cord looped around the hat.  I love Halloween but I never get any trick or treaters  here.  So this witchy center piece will go over to Mom at her assisted living residence.  She loves to hand out candy to all her friends there.  There's a great video and instructions on SCS.  Give it a try.

Snow Swirled and Everything Eleanor?

I did two versions of this card. Here'a the first one - Peace On Earth

Here's the second one: Merry Christmas

I like both of them.  I really like the pop of red on the second one.  What do you think?

More Painting With Embossing Powder

This card is another using the "painting" with embossing powder technique.  This time I used  Brushed Silver and Midnight Muse CS.  The Lovely as a Tree image uses white and gold embossing powder.  And I also got to use my new "free" ribbon - Midnight Muse Satin Stitched Ribbon.  The Lots of Tags Label 1 Sizzlet finishes off the sentiment from the Snow Swirled stamp set.  Even though I made it a "Seasons Greetings" card I think it could also make a nice masculine card for the appropriate occasion.  See yesterdays post for the link to Sandi MacGiver's video where I first saw this technique.

Lovely As A Tree

I just had to try this technique.  This card is a total case of the beautiful card Sandi MacIver made in her video of Painting With Embossing Powder.  You can find Sandi's video and gorgeous work Here.
It takes a little practice but the results are stunning.  Give it a try.

Gently Falling Hybrid

I didn't have the exact sentiment I wanted for this card so I turned to MDS2.  I was so happy I found what I needed there.  The sentiment is a combination of two MDS images.  I keep discovering new ways to use this program.  The stamped leaf is from Gently Falling a 2-step stamping set.  I stamped the outline image in Chocolate Chip (stamped off once) and then followed up with the solid image in More Mustard.  After stamping I daubered on some Cajun Craze.  The Very Vanilla piece is adhered with Dimensionals.  I was going for clean and simple.  It works for me.

CS: Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla
Ink: Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Cajun Craze
Brads:  Neutrals Collection

Papillon Potpourri

I usually do A2 size cards but this time I decided to try a square 5 1/4"  card.  The color combo came right off the Color Coach - Riding Hood Red and So Saffron with Whisper White for the image portion of the card.  Although the ribbon and button are Daffodil Delight, it blends in nicely.  Stampin Up's Papillon Potpourri stamp set has the most beautiful butterflies.  Love them and especially the coordinating new butterfly punch.  The punched butterfly is adhered with mini glue dots and the wings bent upward so he's flying high.  He was stamped in So Saffron.  His body was colored with Riding Hood Red marker.  Daubered on some Riding Hood Red around the edges.  I'm really happy with the way this card came out.
