New Blog News!

A quick and short post.  I haven't posted to this blog in a long time.  Life happenings got in the way and then I just lost the momentum.  However, I've started a new blog and if you like stop in at:
Doggone Stamping With D  when you have a moment.  Plans are to post more regularly and more often.  Thoughts and prayers are with everyone in hurricane harms way.  Be safe.

The Witches Hat

It has been way too long since I've posted to my blog.  Lots of reasons but mostly because I've moved from PA to VA.  Not an easy task when you're doing it by yourself.  Not to mention I'm no spring chicken!  And it seems my furry friends aren't much help!  Speaking of furry friends I'm no longer 5 Bichons.  I lost my furry little man Snickers this year right before the move.  He was diagnosed with liver failure and was having very violent seizures all too frequently because of it.  My sweet Rosie girl passed earlier this year so we are 3 Bichons and me now.

I've managed to find some of my stamping supplies and made these adorable little witches hats. They are not my original creation.  You can find instructions for them here on the Chic n Scratch you tube video from Angie Juda.  They are so easy to make.  The little ghost is a punch I've had in my stash for years.  Everything else is Stampin Up - black glimmer paper,  Happy Hauntings dsp and su clothes pins.

Thanks for visiting today.

Cheerful Critters Birthday!

I made this card for a special young lady whose 13th birthday was yesterday!  It's going off in the mail today.  The inspiration for this card came from here from Lee Conry for Stamping and Blogging.  I changed a few things but the concept is the same.  The strip at the bottom is Sweet Sadie Washi Tape.  The sentiment is from Endless Birthday Wishes.  Gotta love those Cheerful Critters!  A strip of Blushing Bride Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and some sequins finish off this Pink Pirouette A2 card.  The Bunny is colored with my blender pen and Pink Pirouette reinker in the lid of the ink pad.

Happy Birthday Sarah!

Thanks for stopping in today.  Have a wonderful day!

Stampin Up Butterfly Framelit Birthday!

The white layer is embossed with the Lovely Lace tief.  Flowers are punched from Painted Blooms dsp with the Petite Petals punch.  Leaves are Wild Wasabi cs and punched from the Bird Builder Punch.  I added a 1/4 in. punch to the center of each flower from the same dsp with a Pearl in the center.  I used the medium butterfly from the Butterfly framelits and more pearls.  The sentiment is from the Flower Patch stamp set and is stamped on a leaf from the coordinating framelits - finished with a Wild Wasabi candy dot.  Butterfly and base A2 card are Rich Razzleberry.

I hope stuff is blooming where you are.....

Moon Lake...Thinking of You

I loved the Moon Lake stamp set the moment I saw it in the new catalog......last June!  I'm just now putting some ink on it.  I stamped the duck image with Memento black ink and then die cut it with the Labels framelits.  The image is colored with my markers - Wild Wasabi, So Saffron and Crumb Cake.  The sun is Daffodil Delight.   I used Soft Suede and Lost Lagoon ink on the feathers from Four Feathers and die cut them with their matching framelits.  The button is from the Very Vintage collection with a Linen Thread bow and the sentiment is also from the Moon Lake stamp set.....fits perfectly in that feather! The ribbon is Lost Lagoon stitched satin.  Card stock is Crumb Cake, Soft Sky and Whisper White.

Have a great day and thanks for taking a look today.

Summer Silhouettes Flower Patch

Spring is coming, Spring is coming....not soon enough however!  We had a lovely 60 degree day last Tuesday but alas we are back to the 40's again....sigh.  So to encourage the weather man I did some flowers for today's post.  I've been watching watercolor videos and decided to use my Stampin Up products to create today's A2 card.  Truth be told the watercolor piece started out bigger.  My nimble (not) fingers smeared ink on a portion of it...dang!  So I cut it down and changed my layout!  All in all I was happy with the way it turned out.

Products:
Coastal Cabana, Very Vanilla and Watercolor cardstock
Bordering Blooms, Summer Silhouettes and Flower Patch (sentiment)
Coastal Cabana SAB ribbon, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Banner Thinlit (Circle card Thinlit set)

Hope Spring is right around the corner where you are!  Thanks for stopping in today.

Sheer Perfection Gold

I love the newly added Sheer Perfection vellum to this year's Sale a Bration.  When I saw this card over at the Stampin Schach here I couldn't wait to case it.  I copied the layout but changed out the colors and sentiment.  I used Very Vanilla and Brushed Gold cardstock.  The butterfly is double layered, punched with the Elegant Butterfly punch on Gold Foil and again with a scrap of the Sheer Perfection vellum.  I adhered Gold Sequin trim to Gold Satin ribbon and stamped the sentiment from Butterfly Basics with Encore Gold ink.  I love how it turned out.  Hope you do too!

Thanks for stopping in today.

Bloom with Hope on a Tag

For this card I was going for clean and simple.  Once I decided on the elements it was pretty quick to put together.  The large butterfly from Butterfly Basics was stamped in Wisteria Wonder and then I punched the Bitty Butterfly from the larger image.  The Scalloped Tag Topper punch adorns the front of the card with Wisteria Wonder Seam Binding and White Bakers Twine.  The flower and the Happy Birthday sentiment are from Bloom With Hope and the green leafy image is from Build a Bouquet. I did use my Wisteria Wonder and Pear Pizzazz markers to add a little more color to the flower and stem.  I added pearls to the butterfly and adhered the tag to the Stylish Stripes TIEF layer.  All on Whisper White cardstock.

Thanks for taking a look today.  Hope your day is grand!

Traveler on the Rails

This card came together pretty quickly.  The Traveler stamp set is perfect for some friends that are planning a cross country trip in the fall.  The card is 5 1/2" square.  The striped dsp is the SU Typsest paper and the sentiment is from Life's Adventure.  Very Vanilla, Basic Black cs, circle framelits and a piece of Lost Lagoon stiped satin ribbon and the card is complete.  I used the sketch CCMC345 at Create with Connie and Mary.

Thanks for stopping in today.  The weather here is getting closer to spring....Yay!!  Hope yours is too.

Just a note:  Sadly my little Rosie has left us this past weekend.  I will miss her terribly.

Well Worded....just because

I tried my hand at the popular technique called Bokeh.  There are videos and tutorials available on You Tube and other blogs.  For this background piece I used water color paper and reinkers.  You can also sponge the background color.  Here's a tutorial from my upline Sandi MacGiver.  The flower is from the Stampin Up stamp set Well Worded.  The sentiment is from And Many More and is die cut from the Bitty Banners Framelits.  The colors on this card are Rich Razzleberry and Bermuda Bay.  White craft ink did the circles with a stencil I made from circle punches.  Try it....it's fun!

From the Herd Birthday Celebration

The From the Herd stamp set is just too darn cute!  The banner, balloons and bow are from the Celebrate Today set.  And together they make a great birthday celebration card!  Blendalbilities were used to color the herd, markers colored the banner directly onto the stamp before stamping and classic ink pads for the balloons and party hats.  The whole herd is picture perfect in the On Film Framelits.  The sentiment banner was hand cut and is adorned with candy dots.  White bakers twine holds the balloons.

Thanks for stopping in today.  It's snowing again here (what a surprise.....not).  Be warm and comfortable where you are.

Ink - Memento Black, So Saffron, Calypso Coral

Welcome to the Happy Stampers November Blog Hop.  This month's theme is the Holidays.  Be sure to visit all the hoppers today and leave comments for a chance to win some Blog Candy!
My first project for you today is this little deer!

You may remember seeing him yesterday.  Again he was colored with the Crumb Cake Blendabilities.  I created a little scene for him in a 2 1/2 inch circle punch of Whisper White.  The Circle Framelits created the Pool Party border layer.  He's nestled in amongst some trees from the White Christmas set and standing in snow made from the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.  The Banner Framelit die cut is also out of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.  All the stars you see are out of Silver Glimmer paper and are from punches.  The tiny little stars over the deer are from the Confetti Stars punch.   Base card is Soft Sky with a layer from the All is Calm dsp.  Greeting is from the Good Greetings Hostess set.  My next project is the card below:
Based on the weather here this week it definitely is the season. It was 18 outside this morning!
I love all the stars Stampin Up has given us to play with this season!  I used the Star Framelits for all the stars.  I've used the Bright and Beautiful set and the Many Merry Stars (in the Holiday Supplement) for the Greeting at the top.The little snowflakes above the stars (or they could also be stars) are from Holiday Home set.

If you'd like to win a package of Stampin Up's New Silver Glimmer Paper leave me a comment on my blog and I will choose a random winner to be announced on Saturday morning.  Please understand that although anyone can leave a comment I can only ship to address' in the USA.

Wondrous Wreath for Thanksgiving

This card uses both the Wondrous Wreath Bundle and the Fall Fest Bundle - stamps and framlits.  My friend Martha and I made this card at our last get together this past week.  In addition we used a piece of dsp from Motley Monsters and a piece of dsp from the All Abloom Paper stack, the acorn from the Autumn Accents Bigz die, linen thread and fringe scissors. We stamped the pumpkins in Pumpkin Pie onto Pumpkin Pie cs. A Stylus was used to give the falling leaves some texture.  We used the baby wipe technique to color the wreath.

Other Supplies:
CS - Wild Wasabe, Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie -  leaves in garden green, cajun ccraze, old olive, mossy meadow
Reinkers - Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry
